About PowerShotz founder
Introducing Nic Riosa, the founder of PowerShotz. Nic resides in Kuopio, Finland, with his family and brings a wealth of experience from his athletic career.
Nic has a significant background in competitive sports, having proudly represented both New Zealand and Finland in kayak marathon at the ICF Marathon World Championships.

Beyond his kayaking accomplishments, Nic is also a highly accomplished endurance athlete. He has completed the challenging New Zealand Ironman Triathlon on five occasions, notably finishing his first in 1987 at the age of 16. Furthermore, he has participated in numerous other triathlon and multisport events worldwide.

Adding to his athletic pursuits, Nic possesses a strong sense of adventure. In 2010, he successfully kayaked the entire 2,800km length of the Danube River over a period of 31 days with his friend New Zealander, Andrew Newick.
Following this remarkable feat, in 2011, they embarked on an impressive 11,000km cycling journey from Bucharest, Romania, to Beijing, China, completing it in 99 days.
Throughout his career, Nic has coached a diverse range of athletes, from those aiming for general fitness to participants in half-marathon running events to world-class kayak competitors.
When Nic moved to Europe in 1998 to compete in marathon kayaking, he began his search for suitable sports drinks and energy gels. Unable to find a product that met his needs, PowerShotz was created.
